Author of the novel Latest Virus — Surviving in France

Zombies never went away! They're right there, around us, hidden, ready to rise up and devour the world!

I remember that, as a kid, I was the kind of homebody (I still am) who preferred a good book to hanging out with friends; as a teenager, I discovered the world of zombies through George Romero's films: Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, the excellent Land of the Dead, and more. They left a lasting impression on me. Since then I've never stopped being drawn to this kind of apocalyptic universe: books, films, I devoured them all, from the excellent to the downright mediocre!

Needless to say, when the zombie wave swept over France thanks to shows like The Walking Dead or films like World War Z or Resident Evil, I was thrilled! And then the wave receded. And the dull everyday grind took over again.

Every now and then a gem would surface, like Mike Carey's book The Girl With All the Gifts, the series The Last of Us, or Sang-ho Yeon's film Train to Busan. Spanish and English-language writers kept publishing tirelessly. Bold filmmakers offered their own take on the phenomenon through networks like Netflix, HBO, and others. But in France, aside from a few flickers of life (for instance The Horde or Goal of the Dead in film, Survival Instinct and Nécropolitain in books), the flatline stayed depressingly flat: for French producers and publishers, the genre had become a niche market reserved for self-publishing — dying, if not already dead and buried...

Well, no! You and I both know you should never trust a lifeless corpse, even one buried six feet under or hidden in a closet. The resurrection is coming! It's already begun in Korea, and there's no doubt it will soon sweep over the West! While waiting for this inevitable future, I decided to write the kind of story I would have loved to read. Self-publishing being the easiest path for a first novel, I took the plunge.

So here is my first book. I've just finished the second one, which is entirely independent of the first. I'm waiting for the green light from a brave publisher — if any are left — to release the second installment.
